[NDS] Nintendo DS games

I was talking to m0gkn1ght on msn yesterday about NDS games, so I thought I’ll talk a little bit more about the games I’ve played recently. I know I always talk about video games and it bored people~~ XD

Most of the games I played are JP versions, but I’ll use the englist title if possible.

[Bleach - The Blade of Fate]

This is a fighting game, as much as I like Bleach, I don’t really like to play fighting games on portable consoles, which means both NDS and PSP. Maybe it’s just that I’m used to the playstation controller.

[Bleach - The 3rd Phantom]

It’s a strategy RPG; includes new story and a lot of new characters designed by Tite Kubo himself. The main characters are a pair of twins and in the beginning you can choose if you want to play as the brother or the sister. I chose to play as the sister. I’m still in the middle of this game, but everything looks interesting to me so far~ the battle system is ok for me.

[Nintendog - Shiba and Friends]

The picture is the newest version - Dalmation and Friends, but I don’t like dalmations that much, I like dogs with longer fur. So I got Shiba and Friends or in USA - Lab and Friends.

I played this out of curiosity because my older cousin keeps telling me how cute the dogs are~ she told me that the first game she played on her new NDS is Nintendog. Well, I have to say that the dogs are indeed cute, but after a while I got tired of taking care of the virtual dog and my real cat~ XD But if you really like dogs and are not able to keep one, this is nice~ the actions and expressions of the dogs are really nice and cute~

[Final Fantasy - Crystal Chronicles - Ring of Fates]

I’m still not sure how I feel about this game~ the system is interesting with the different types of character you use, sometimes you use the stylus to control some skills. But this also annoys me a lot though…cuz I hate to switch between the buttons and the stylus in battle~

The story is so-so for an RPG game; it’s too short and predictable for me.

[Final Fantasy XII - Revenant Wings]

This game you can completly play it with the stylus so it feels better for me. I’m still in the middle of the game so not much to be written yet. I’m not a big fan of the PS2 FFXII game, the theme doesn’t interest me that much~ and the characters are just ok for me…so it’ll take a lot for me to really like this game I think.

[Harvest Moon DS]

I played this on GBA before so there’s really nothing to write about. It’s a farming game. I like this series~ lots of small stuff you can discover around the town~ Somehow sometimes I like to do some really boring stuff (in video games)…like planting seeds and dig for iron in cave. This also shows when I’m playing the online game “Mabinogi“, I like to repeatedly get wool off sheep and make clothes in the game…

[Harvest Moon - Shining Sun and Friends]

Another game int the Harvest Moon series~ this time farming on an island.

[Rune Factory - A Fantasy Harvest Moon]

I guess it’s a side series of the Harvest Moon series. It still has the farming element in it, but also includes a lot of the RPG elements. You can farm in cave and make friends with monsters so they can help you farm. For example, you can capture a bee monster and it’ll produce honey for you~ stuff like that. m0gkn1ght said he has no patience for these kinds of games~~~ XDDD

[Rune Factory 2]

Similar to Rune Factory 1, more farming~~ these kinds of games takes up a lot of times…so I usually play it when I’m bored with other games.

[Atelier Series - Lise no Atelier]

I’ve always like the Atelier series~~ alchemist are always fun~ ^^ and in this game you have a lot more food related items you can make XD~ BUT the battle system of this game just annoys me to the end of the earth. The battle is so sloooooww…each turn takes so long it feels like a year to me… after you attack, the punipuni (one of the most basic monters) has to make a weird face, then attack, and the

side notes about the series, in the few recent games (Iris no Atelier), the style became more like a RPG games…the alchemist part of it is not as interesting as before because it doesn’t have as much freedom as before… so despite the battle system of this game which is just incredibly painful for me, it still focusing on the alchemist part which I like~~

[Duel Love]

I was debating whether I should write about this game, cuz it’s a sick sick weird game… I tried it out of curiosity. It’s a love simulation game where the main character is a girl who eventually became the helper of one of the 5 boys that compete in boxing match. I think the story sucks but I’m sure the story is not the selling point of this game…the selling point is that you have to touch the guys with the stylus to put bandages on them when they are hurt or wipe off sweat for them…=_= the worst (or best for some people) is that they make weird sounds…you better use headphones for this game…I played the stories for 2 of the guys and it is a very weird game…=_= try it m0gkn1ght~ it’s disturbing…oh did I mention that it is a weird game? ohoh, and did I mention that the story sucks?

ps. if you don’t believe me search for ‘duel love’ on youtube and you’ll see what I mean…don’t say I didn’t warn you. It’s a creepy game…

I think next I’m gonna play Naruto game on DS and Soul Calibar on PS3 if I have time and energy~~
